Today is that day folks!! Cover More Ground is officially out and available on all sales and streaming platforms. I'm so incredibly proud of this album and can't believe that this day has finally arrived. As you've heard a hundred times, this is my very first solo album and it hasn't been an easy or quick process to get to this point.
There are so many people to thank so here goes: First, I'd like to thank Mitch Collman of Robust Records for believing in this project and seeing this through with me. Cover More Ground has a great home at Robust Records and I couldn't be more appreciative.
Eric Wiggs' contribution to this record goes beyond anything I can put into words. So many of the killer guitar (acoustic & electric), mandolin and dobro solos on this record are due to his epic abilities. If you think this record sounds really good, that's because of him. We tracked most all of the record at Eric's Vermilion Road Studio in Longmont. Eric handled all the engineering and it shows. We're not done, because he sang some great harmonies and helped with arranging the vast array of material that is on Cover More Ground. Eric, if you're reading this, you CRUSHED it!! Eric and I will be touring in support of this project for the forseeable future along with Amy Shelley. Please come check us out.
Next is all the other fantastic folks that laid down some monster performances on this record. That includes two of my best friends John Teer and Greg Readling of Chatham County Line. Teer added his signature spark on mandolin on two tracks while Greg did his always masterful work on Hammond organ and piano on 3 tracks. Andrew Marlin (of Mandolin Orange, maybe you've heard of 'em?) played mandolin on one track (Next Time I'll Win) and absolutely made magic happen the way only he can. Nick Baglio put drums on two tracks, Kalin Capra put bass down on one track, and Taylor Sims sang some sweet harmonies on one track.
We're not done. Big time kuddos to my good friend Chris Boerner for doing all the mixing and mastering this record at Kitchen Mastering. Thanks to Nathan Golub for doing a fantastic job on the album art. Josh Elioseff for taking some great pictures and being such a fun dude to work with. And a big shout out to Mark Venezia for tracking and mixing Been Around at his incredible Wind Over the Earth studio in Longmont, CO. Mark also featured Been Around on a charity project he so kindly masterminded called The Longmont Project which donated all proceeds to Longmont High School's music program.
And finally, all my family and friends especially my wife Kyra and son Charlie. I love all of you so much!! -Chandler
